The Canopy Trail

Breathtaking Viewpoint

This thrilling, suspended pathway leads to a breathtaking viewpoint.

Joel has lived on the side of a mountain for many years. His property features a stunning panorama of the Salish Sea, the inland waters between the United States and Canada. Desiring to experience the property more viscerally, Joel and his architect reached out to us to discuss the possibilities. During the initial site visit, David recognized the opportunity to create a unique and thrilling experience. This was exactly what Joel hoped to achieve.

The design took shape organically, guided by the trees themselves. Four tree-supported platforms were drawn, connected by three cable suspension bridges. A local sawyer provided the rough-sawn cedar decking. Wild Tree sourced the cable, rope, netting, and fasteners for the bridges. Nelson Treehouse & Supply fabricated the adjustable steel struts that support each crows nest.

We assembled the perfect build team to integrate the many dynamic aspects of the structures. Once on-site building, the project went very smoothly thanks to excellent planning by Charlie and some lovely October weather. What resulted is a truly special project. Everyone from our client Joel to the crew members themselves enjoyed the process. We can’t ask for much more.

“I’m very pleased with how the project has progressed. The WTW crew is very impressive!”

-Joel J.
