Rasa’s Treehouse
We built this treehouse for a family who needed additional accommodations on their get-away property. This off-grid treehouse features mountain views and many unique details, such as custom leaded glass in the bay window, built-in furniture, a gravity sink, and an eye-catching color scheme.
Rasa got in touch with the hope to build a treehouse on his family’s property near Puget Sound. On the property was a Pan-Abode cabin, but with two bedrooms the extended family was finding it too small. Rather than build another cabin, they decided to build something in the trees for both adults and kids to enjoy.
David and Rasa worked together to design a treehouse that fit Rasa’s vision and also fit within the family’s budget. Over several conversations, sketches, and swapping stories about their new baby boys (both David and Rasa were adjusting to a new season of fatherhood during this time) they worked out a design that pleased everyone.
What they came up with was a three-season treehouse with no electricity or insulation — though both can be added later. Everyone’s favorite feature is a bay window that contains a built-in bench and leaded glass windows.
The build went well for the crew. They were able to stay in the Pan-Abode cabin during the build, which made for an easy commute. Most importantly the project was completed in time for Rasa’s family gathering in August. This was a satisfying build for everyone, knowing the treehouse will be enjoyed regularly with family and friends.
