Sorrel Treehouse
Robert and Linda got in touch with David through the Wild Tree Woodworks website. They liked his designs and wanted a treehouse for weekend getaways on their five-acre island property. Completely off-grid, they envisioned a treehouse with Craftsman details, a wood burning stove, a sleeping loft, and a composting toilet.
David took into account their love of camping and rustic living, and he designed a treehouse that included all of these aspects. He added a covered outdoor cooking area, as well as a deck for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the view.
Building off-grid during springtime in the Pacific Northwest, the crew slept in a nearby AirBnB. Power tools were plugged into a 3,000-watt Honda generator. We completed this project in 5 weeks, adjusting the scope along the way as Robert and Linda contributed ideas and made requests.
As the couple has settled into their getaway in the trees, they’ve discovered that an owl lives nearby. They’ve set up bat houses, and are enjoying books on the sun deck. We couldn’t be happier!
