The Hi-Fi Treehouse

design build treehouse by Wild Tree Woodworks

This treehouse has it all. It is a humble display of Wild Tree Woodworks’ design principles and custom carpentry.

Such cool clients. We love remembering a project this way. Our clients had just purchased the property but they and their young boys had already established a chicken coop, and plans were in the works for a large garden. The treehouse would be part of the grand vision.

Following a springtime site visit, David provided an inspired initial design that didn’t need many changes. Electricity and a composting toilet were important. A reading nook with storage in the bench was a cozy feature. Our clients added a small wood stove (the Dwarf 3kw) and a coffee counter to the design.

The crew embarked on the build during autumn of 2021. Winter arrived and brought brutal winds and rain, so we improved our tarp game and purchased additional work lights. In spite of the conditions, this treehouse came together beautifully over the nine-week build. Our electrician wired the treehouse for speakers and an amplifier. On the final day, as we shared memorable beers at dusk, our clients carried a turntable into the treehouse. That’s hi-fi.
